Research: Most Productive Retailers 2019
Topping the list was Victoria Plumbing which has a group staff cost-to-sales ratio of just 4.38, making it the most efficient of 180 retailers analysed for the report.
The research partly attributes its policy of empowering employees for producing this result. It also found member of staff had been “homegrown and promoted internally”.
It also found:
- N Brown, in 10th place with a ratio of 9, engages staff with a benefits package that includes an annual profit share scheme, employee discounts on its ranges, free life insurance and a holiday allowance of up to 30 days
