Research: The Millennial Dad at Work

New research by Deloitte for web portal DaddiLife has revealed just how out-of-kilter many employers are with the requirements of modern working fathers.

Millennial Dad at Work 1

The poll of more than 2,000 working dads finds difficulties juggling work and home life has seen 60% of fathers admit they can’t find the right balance, while 60% of dads say they want more flexible working.

In addition to this, it finds half of dads want better paternity leave; while a third want better information from their employers about what paternity benefits are on offer to them.

It also finds:

  • While 67% of younger (millennial) fathers believe the workplace recognises the greater contrition fathers play, only just over half feel they are treated the same as mothers
  • Some 37% of dads report there is ‘work tension’ from other colleagues about their working hours, with leaving from work ‘on-time’ the biggest single tension
