Research: Deloitte Millennial Survey 2019

Consultancy Deloitte’s latest ‘Millennial Survey’ reveals widespread economic and political pessimism amongst 17-36 year-olds, with just 13% of millennials believing the political and economic situation in the UK will improve over the next 12 months.

However, it is some interesting attitudes to work that are also revealed.

The survey finds 44% of UK millennials and 65% of UK Generation Z employees say they expect to leave their employer within two years.

Meanwhile three in four millennials and Generation Z workers say they would consider joining the gig economy, as flexible working continues to be a favourite for these generations.

It also finds:

  • In the UK, only one in three have an ambition to make a positive impact on their local communities, compared to 46 per cent globally
  • Less than half (48 per cent) of respondents said businesses have a positive impact on society, down from 58 per cent in 2018
