Data: The Pensions Regulator compliance declarations (2012-2019)

The Pensions Regulator has compiled all of its declaration of compliance data between 2012-end of March 2019, to present a unique snapshot into the expansion of auto-enrolment on the employment landscape.

Since 2016, the data also shows information about employers who have complied with their re-enrolment duties [employers are required to re-enroll eligible staff and re-declare their compliance every three years].

 

It reveals:

 

  • As of the end of March 2019, 1.477 million employers have met their compliance duties, covering 31.367 million workers.
  • As of the end of March 2019, there were 10,054,000 workers automatically enrolled into an auto-enrollment pension scheme
  • As of the end of March 2019, there were 11,524,000 workers who were already active members of a qualifying scheme on their company’s staging date
