Toni Graves of Allen & Overy on creating change around mental wellbeing on a global scale
She discussed how Allen & Overy undertook an audit of its wellbeing benefits, with a particular focus on mental health, and decided that they wanted to establish a simple, global framework for wellbeing across its 42 international offices. Activities included engaging senior leaders to share their mental health stories with employees to raise awareness of issues and tackle the stigma of mental health.
Graves added that although it took almost two years to get leaders to share their stories, feedback from employees showed that it was the most significant thing they had seen around this issue.
