Maggie's inside track: my must-see sessions at Innovation Day

We’re just under a month away now from REBA’s Innovation Day on the 28th November. I’m really excited by the fantastic programme that we’ve got this year and thought I’d share a few highlights with you.

Our overall theme for this year is futureproofing reward and benefits. The keynote speakers at the start and end of the day – Matthew Taylor, CEO of the RSA and author of the Taylor review of modern working practices, and Leo Johnson, head of PWC’s disruptive practice unit – will look at future-proofing from different angles: how work is changing and how prepared we are for data and technology as a disruptor in our workplaces. And crucially, why the decisions that employers make today will shape the future of how we work and our reward expectations for the future.

Across the whole day our key theme will be expanded in many ways. A few of my personal highlights include

  • Paula Leach, Chief People Officer of FDM Groups’ talk on how we create a more inclusive workplace for the future.  Ingeborg van Harten, head of HR at Mollie’s session on how to create benefits that attract top tech talent in an ambitious start-up.
  • As a former UX designer, I’m fascinated and inspired by how we can put individuals at the centre of their own reward and benefits, while keeping consistency across organisation with tens of thousands of employers. Debra Frost, CEO of Personal Group’s, talk on harmonising and humanising reward and benefits will be a must for me.
  • Another really important theme which runs through everything we discuss on the day is the need for trust and transparency in business. Our ‘in conversation’ session with Patagonia’s HR Director EMEA, Evelyn Doyle on the rise of the conscious organisation will be of real interest.

Just as importantly as the programme, I’m really looking forward to meeting the REBA community, sharing experiences and finding out about the many inspiring ways that innovation is reshaping reward and benefits for the future.

Visit www.rebainnovationday.co.uk for details of the whole programme. I look forward to seeing you there!
