Innovation series: How Linklaters is using data analytics to support reward and benefits decisions

The importance of data analytics within the reward and benefits function has been increasing in recent years. REBA’s co-founder and director Debi O’Donovan spoke with Melissa Lever, head of reward and HR systems at Linklaters, to gain her insight into how the use of data is changing and influencing decision making.

In this video interview, Lever provides insights into how they are utilising data analytics at Linklaters to not only measure their diversity, but also to drive their strategy and help make the right decisions.

Lever and her team do their own data analysis in-house and believe there is no substitute for doing it yourself. “If you outsource this you’ll get a range of outcomes come back to you, but you won’t necessarily know what’s driven those outcomes and what interventions will actually do anything to change what you do in the future.”

Other key points of discussion include the current trends within HR and reward technology and how it is expected to develop over the coming year, as well as the current gaps in provision. Lever is also able to draw on her global experience, offering insight into the trends and learnings from the ways that other countries use HR systems and data.

The innovation series is part of REBA’s new On Demand resources which will explore the age of innovation and how this will influence future reward, wellbeing and benefits design and strategy. The series will enable you to hear from a select group of senior reward professionals, industry experts and thought-leaders who are at the cutting edge of reward and benefits development.
