The Awards are now open for entries and over the coming weeks, we’ll be shining a spotlight on some of the categories available for entry. You can see a list of all available categories in our Awards brochure.

One of the new categories that we’ve introduced for this year is Best Approach to Risk Protection and Health Insurance.

This award celebrates employers that have worked with consultants, advisers, insurers and other health and wellbeing providers to make sure employees’ wellbeing is well protected.

Some ideas to inspire your entry include:

  • Maybe you’ve built a truly inclusive strategy that ensures everyone in your workforce can use and benefit from protection products. That could include reviewing your insurance products to improve the employee journey so that staff members are fully supported with good quality clinical care from start to finish when claims are made.
  • You might have worked with your insurer to make sure that conditions that are a known problem within your workforce are well covered in your health insurance products, reviewed and addressed your workforce’s specific risks, or worked hard to make sure your insurance offering is truly inclusive for all of the workforce.
  • Perhaps you’ve integrated your insurance benefits into a wider wellbeing strategy to create a more joined-up approach to prevention and protection. Or, maybe you’ve worked with your provider to make sure employees get the most out of add-on services that are included in your suite of protection products.
  • Perhaps you’ve integrated insurance benefits into a wider wellbeing strategy to create a more joined-up approach to prevention and protection.
  • You might have evolved your insurance offering to ensure that physical and mental health are seen as equally important.
  • Perhaps you’ve created a campaign or introduced a benefit that helps employees build a financial safety net to protect them from unexpected financial shocks.
  • Or, maybe you’ve worked with your insurance product providers to create better cover for older workers, for example.

Our judges will want to know ‘what you do’, but more importantly, the ‘why you do it’ from a business perspective, and the ‘how you do it’. They will want to see evidence that you’ve worked carefully with your providers to really integrate insurance and protection into your broader approach to wellbeing, and/or pushed the boundaries of how insurance and protection can deliver benefits for all of your workforce.

Entries for the Awards are open until 7th November 2019. Full details of how to enter are on the Employee Wellbeing Awards 2020 website.
